Introduced to Paris in 1160 and completed in 1260, Notre-Dame de Paris is one of the most prolific cathedrals in world history. Created in the French Gothic style, Our Lady of Paris is known for her innovative ribbed vault and spectacular flying buttresses. In the 1790s, Notre-Dame suffered immense damage during the French Revolution and was later restored by notorious ruler Napoléon Bonaparte. During the early 19th century, the cathedral became the star of novelist Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, which became a Walt Disney Pictures feature film in 1996.
