From Lady Gaga to Regina King, the tattoos were out at this year's Academy Awards

While audiences are accustomed to seeing visible ink at awards shows such as The Grammys or the MTV Music Awards, it's far less common spotting tattoos at the Academy Awards. The Academy Awards celebrates the best in film and for the most part, the actors who are invited aren't typically ornamented in body art. However, at the 2019 award's ceremony, there was plenty of ink on display and it's time you took a look at the celebrity tattoos.

Of course, perhaps the biggest star of the night, Lady Gaga had a handful of her tattoos on display. Not only could her fans admire her two new pieces by Winter Stone, but she also showed off her trumpet piece in a sleeveless gown.

On the red carpet, Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke showed off her wrist tattoo for a reporter with Extra. The tattoo was inspired by her character Daenerys and was inked by Los Angeles artist Dr. Woo.

Another GOT cast member rocking tattoos on the red carpet was Jason Momoa. Although his arm tattoos were covered up by a salmon-colored suit, his finger pieces were visible at the Oscars. And because of that statement scrunchie, his ink was noticed by fans.

Although not an actor, Black Panther's Hannah Beachler took center stage at the 2019 Academy Awards when she won Best Production Design. She became the first African-American to win in this category and was rocking beautiful ink in a ruffled gown.

Last, but certainly not least, Regina King proudly rocked multiple tattoos during the 2019 Oscars. The Best Supporting Actress winner showed off not only a butterfly design on her foot but a piece of script in Aramaic which translates to "unconditional love."
