Demi Lovato Sheds Her Past With New Hidden Tattoo

She's been reborn

It wasn’t long ago that Demi Lovato “went dark” on her social media, sharing that the next time fans would hear from her she would be singing. Lovato then announced her come back performances at both the Grammys and Super Bowl, but today she shared a new surprise—Lovato got a medium sized tattoo on her back that she’s been hiding from us.

The hyper realistic portrait was done by artist Alessandro Capozzi, and in a long Instagram caption Lovato shared what the piece means, “we created a combination on images that best symbolized the spiritual awakening I was having. Having a fallen angel being lifted by 3, pure, angelic doves (the Holy trinity) as her inner light is being guided by a higher consciousness, and the disintegration of her dark wings was representing the darkness I was shedding.” Lovato also shared in the caption that she got the tattoo done while on her media hiatus, and had little idea of what she wanted going into the appointment.

Lovato overdosed in 2018, and has been focused on her sobriety ever since according to People Magazine. Now she’s returning to the music world to perform, and has already slayed both her Grammys and Super Bowl performances. The singer returned to the stage in ethereal white looks, and a sense of belonging that can’t be mimicked. This tattoo, Lovato posted, represents her rebirth both musically and lifestyle-wise.

This isn’t the first meaningful tattoo that Lovato has shared with her fans— just last year she shared a tattoo she got after a close friend passed away, and the word “survivor” on her neck. In fact, the singer is quite open about both her tattoos and life experiences. It’s a quality that makes her relatable, and of course draws in new fans.

How do you feel about the new hyper-realistic piece of art?
