Demi Lovato Is Learning To Put Herself First, Not Only Through Her Tattoos, But Through Their Placements As Well
INKED argues there's significance to the placement of Demi's newest tattoo, more than the meaning of just the ink itself.
Demi Lovato has been well known for advocating body positivity and being open about mental health. Her tattoo collection often reflects her self-love journey, but her newest ink addition, tattooed by Winter Stone, is one that truly marks the personal achievements Lovato has earned. Not only for the tattoo itself, but for the placement she chose. On her ring finger, perhaps to further symbolize the ‘Day 1’ bond she has formed with herself, reads: “me.”
In typewriter font, this intimate placement – often where many couples will get wedding band rings or initials to forever mark their marriage and love – isn’t an act of jumping on the tiny-celeb-finger-tattoos bandwagon. Instead, Lovato is changing the bandwagon’s course.
Lovato is giving the finger to reserving this spot for someone else. Because, “me first.” And Demi, we are all for it.
Daniel Winter, AKA Winter Stone, has tattooed other celebs, like Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas, and Chrissy Teigen. In a few short years, Winter has, rightfully, managed to appear on everyone’s radar. He gave INKED an exclusive on Lovato’s rose tattoo on the inside of her pointer finger, saying, “Demi talked to me for a little about what she wanted, a rose came to her mind and asked me to draw her a unique fine-line tattoo.”
Lovato‘s latest finger tattoo follows an announcement for her seventh studio album. “You know what’s great about making an album?” Lovato wrote on Instagram, “You get to say anything you want, be as open and honest as possible and finally tell your side of the story regardless of who might not like it…”
